Understanding Colorado Tax Benefits

Certain tax benefits can reduce your Colorado taxable income. To find out if you qualify for any of these benefits, please review the descriptions below. We've also provided helpful guides and forms to assist you.

Important Notes

  • Negative Amounts: Do not enter negative amounts when claiming these benefits.
  • Accuracy for Faster Processing: For faster processing, your tax return must be accurate. The amount on the subtraction line of your income tax return must match the subtotal on the subtraction schedule or form.

You may use the Department's free online service, Revenue Online, to file your Colorado income tax return. You do not need to login to Revenue Online to file a return. After you file, you can set up a Login ID and Password to view your tax account in Revenue Online. Or, you can e-file using a paid tax pro or tax software. You may submit your documentation as an E-Filer Attachment via Revenue Online, as well.
