Individual Income Tax Payments with Colorado's Revenue Online

Paying your individual income tax has never been easier. The Colorado Department of Revenue offers a secure and efficient way to handle your tax payments online through Revenue Online. This system provides multiple convenient payment options, ensuring your tax obligations are met accurately and on time.

After you have completed your individual income tax return, you can use Revenue Online to make a payment directly. The system accepts several payment methods, giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for you.

  • Credit Card Payments: You can securely pay your tax bill using a major credit card. This is a fast and easy option for taxpayers who prefer using a card for transactions.
  • e-Check Payments: An e-Check allows you to make a direct withdrawal from your bank account to pay your taxes. This method is often preferred for its convenience and the ability to process payments without a fee, unlike some credit card options.
  • Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT): For businesses and individuals who make regular or large payments, setting up an EFT is an efficient choice. This requires advance registration and allows for streamlined payments directly from your bank account.

How to Make an Individual Income Tax Payment Using Revenue Online

If you are using Revenue Online to file your return, you may choose credit card or e-Check payment or you may register in advance for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). For either method, you will process your payment through Revenue Online.

Check or Money Order

If you owe, you filed online or with tax software, and want to pay by check or money order, use the Individual Income Tax Payment Voucher (DR 0900) and follow these tips.

  • Make the check or money order payable to the Colorado Department of Revenue.
  • A check should never be sent to the Department of Revenue without a voucher form.
  • Do not send a copy of the return.
  • Write your Social Security number, the tax year and the words 'Form 104' on the check.

If you used a paper return, follow the tips listed above, mail the paper return (no voucher) but DO NOT staple the check to your paper return.
